We are doing researches on the characteristics of various flames based on the "aerothermochemistry" (reactive gas dynamics). The stabilities, structures, propagation characteristics of flames, ultralean combustion mechanism, and ignition phenomena are being investigated experimentally and/or numerically with detailed chemistry. We are not developing practical combustion devises themselves, but trying to analyze the mechanisms of fundamental combustion phenomena. Basic scientific studies, we believe, are essentail for creating truly novel technologies. Address: 1-1-1 Tennodai, Tsukuba, Ibaraki 305-8573, Japan |
