Abstract
Adaptively Shifted Integration (ASI) technique for FEM is suitable method to treat plastic collapse analysis of framed structures. In this study, we applied this technique to a steel frame of an architectural structure, the Congress Tower of Tokyo International Exibition Center, subjected to horizontal external force due to earthquake. In this analysis, we showed that the structure is strong enough in comparison with the strength regulated in Japanese design code, and showed that ASI method is effective in use for earthquake resistant design of building structures.
