Graduated from University of Tokyo in March, 1990, with the degree of Bachelor of Engineering.
Obtained a Master of Engineering in March, 1992.
Received a Doctor of Engineering in March, 1997 from University of Tokyo for a thesis entitled:
"Grain-to-grain interaction affecting dynamic deformation of Granular Slope"


Occupation:

Research assistant of Tokyo Institute of Technology, from April, 1993, to March, 1995.
Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, from April, 1997 to February, 1999.
Visiting Researcher of Laboratoire 3S, Grenoble, France, from September, 1997 to August, 1998.
Assistant Professor of Institute of Engineering Mechanics and Systems, University of Tsukuba from February, 1999.
Visiting Researcher of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA, from December, 2000 to August, 2001.
